I love genuine Rickenbacker® basses, and I am also a big fan of so-called 'lawsuit' Made-in-Japan (MIJ) Greco copies of various guitars and basses.

This Greco has a February 1978 build date, smack bang in the golden 'lawsuit' days. The quality is amazing, as is the accuracy. And the sound is simply awesome! No wonder the Rickenbacker® manufacturers are so vigilant about selling spare parts such as 'R' tailpieces and original truss rod covers only to owners of genuine Rickenbacker® instruments, as unscrupulous sellers have fitted these parts in the past in an effort to try to pass a copy off as the real thing.

This MIJ 'lawsuit' bass has absolutely no marks or faults. It's truly ridiculously good! Even the original hard shell case is pristine, and has the original hang tag and Greco polishing cloth still in the pocket! Check out the detailed photographs in the 'more pictures' link below to see just how ridiculously pristine this extremely collectable bass is! I can guarantee that you (or I!) will never find another like it.

These Japanese copies are becoming extremely collectable and sought-after in their own right, as the vigilance by Rickenbacker International Corporation in protecting their trademarks has ensured that no more copies have been made for many years. These Greco copies must surely be the most accurate ever, right down to the correct 'checker' binding, and the pickups are also an exact copy, with that unmistakeable power and 'clang' so characteristic of Rickenbacker® basses.

Weight is 4.3kg (8 pounds 7 ounces).
