The Factor series is notable in that the instruments accept normal bass strings, unlike some other Kubicki models which require special double-ended Kubicki strings. The serial numbers on the back of the headstock (see 'more pictures' link below) indicate a build date of November 1994. This is very interesting, as production of the Factor 5 (5-string) bass only began that year, so this is the 11th Factor 5 ever made in Kubicki's Santa Barbara's workshop!
